Ten’s reality game show Australian Survivor premiered its third season last night with 716,000 metro viewers tuning in.
The debut attracted an extra 77,000 metro viewers from season two’s premiere which managed 639,000 viewers, according to OzTAM’s overnight preliminary metro ratings.

Australian Survivor also topped the key advertising demographics 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54.
Going head to head with Australian Survivor at 7.30pm was Seven’s Highway Patrol which managed 582,000 viewers and Nine’s Britain Got Talent which saw 497,000 tune in.
Nationally, Highway Patrol beat Australian Survivor with 952,000 viewers across the nation compared to Survivor’s 923,000.
Wednesday night’s 6pm news bulletins saw Nine beat Seven with 979,000 viewers topping Seven’s 970,000.
Winning Wednesday night’s main channel ratings was Seven with an overall audience share of 19.4% topping Nine’s 17.8%, Ten’s 14.3%, ABC’s 12.9% and SBS’ 5% share.
Meanwhile, Ten’s ONE had the highest multichannel share with 3.7%.
Of the overall network shares, Seven won the evening with 28.6% over Nine’s 25.7%. Ten beat the ABC with 19.9% against 17.7% while SBS grabbed an 8.1% share.
