Belieb it or not, Justin Bieber has reportedly applied to become a U.S. citizen.
According to TMZ, the 24-year-old pop star, who was born in Ontario, Canada, has had a green card since he and his signature fringe moved to Atlanta in 2007.
People magazine also announced that Bieber and model Hailey Baldwin secretly tied the knot at a courthouse in New York City last Thursday. Reps for the young celebs haven’t confirmed that report.
But are Americans ready for Bieber to become one of them? Twitter users are divided:
Well he’s engaged to an American, so that would be the obvious thing to do.

How does everybody feel about Justin Bieber becoming Canadian-American? Personally I’m all about that voice being called half American #onetime #baby 🎤

I thought all the famous people were gonna leave the USA when Trump won. Maybe it’s better than ever to live here. Welcome to American citizenship bro! Justin Bieber is applying for US citizenship 🇺🇸 https://t.co/0S950Mhvze

I speak on behalf of all of America and we say we don’t want him. But maybe Mexico will happily accept him.

I speak on behalf of all of Brazil, we also don’t want him. Europe would be honored to have him immigrate there.
